Your first remedy when the message above appears should be to check that the base station cable is properly connected at both ends.

If this message would appear in the middle of the game you should unplug the cable a couple of seconds and then plug it in again.

If reconnecting the USB cable does not help, please close Bridge Scorer Control and restart the program.

FIRST USAGE
If the above message would be displayed the first time you start the control software after installation, then you should suspect that the USB drivers were not properly installed. So, please run the setup again and make sure that BridgeScorer drivers are ticked.

Previously installed drivers
If the message shown to the right would appear during setup (when you are trying to fix the problem with a Base Station that does not connect), then you have to uninstall the faulty drivers before you can (again) run setup with the BridgeScorer drivers option ticked.

Uninstall drivers can be done with Windows Add or Remove Programs tool that you find you find in the Control Panel (via Windows Start).

HIGH USB PORT
If you are sure that the drivers are correctly installed and the message "No response from base station" still appears, then you should suspect that the port setting could be involved.

  1. Open the Control Panel (via the Start button).
  2. Go to System/Hardware/Device manager/Ports and locate Prolific USB-to-serial Com Port.
  3. Check in Advanced that the Port setting is <17
  4. Force it to a port in the range 1-16 if the port would be set to >16.
